Women Empowerment Program While working with domestic working girls in the early years of LHWS we learnt more deeply about the vulnerability of women, girls and children. LHWS initially provided the facility of free education to working girls in southern Lahore, which became a platform, to learn more regarding powerlessness of women and girls. The worst forms of women powerlessness i.e. domestic violence, rape, gender discrimination, lack of education & skills and economic powerlessness etc. LHWS providing education to the domestic working girls jumped into skills enhancement of deserving women and girls. The idea was the besides the education, skill enhancement and awareness can up lift them and provide them basic rights. Thus the second step of skills enhancement remained successful and further encouraged to launch many programs for ultimate development of women and their families. LHWS seeking to empower women also noticed that unjust society where gender discrimination is a cross cutting theme and falls in all categories needs to be addressed and as we went on creating gender sensitization, violence against women was risen with a forcing element. The women empowerment package not only highlights the issues but provide a platform to together and practice basic human rights.
